Today is the day! Set the Record Straight is out and you get to listen to it!

Set the Record Straight is a song about love, and vulnerability, and anticipation. The scary realization that you could spend forever with a person.

For all of the thinking we do about love, finding the words is hard. I've shouted and sang and whispered words, but they all fall short. They only point towards something, a song or sunset or feeling, and I say "it's kind of like that, but also so much more". Saying I want to spend my whole life with you is more clear. It's not the words so much as the action or intention. A commitment in contrast with the feelings. One that holds, for me, the scariest and most exciting kind of anticipation.

Music is a love language. Another place to try, and inevitably fail, to say what is ineffable. Writing songs, and singing songs, and sharing songs that make me think of you are some of my favourite ways of telling someone I love them.

Listen to Set the Record Straight here. The first few days of a release can be really impactful for how much reach a song gets in places like Apple music or Spotify. Saving it, adding it to your playlists, listening to it until you hate it, sharing it with friends, or making your whole family listen to it over dinner all help.

As an afterthought, the imagery of this song centres around a dinner table, a place you get to show up and be with people you love. Whether that means every day, or every weekend, or on special holidays I hope you get some time to sit around a table with people you love this weekend <3

Sharing music is a love language. If you enjoy listening to the music we make, please share it however your share music <3
